The Job:

  • Perform production work as well as tooling and fixturing in a productive, efficient, concise manner that meets quality specification and upholds company reputation
  • Review drawings & instructions to ensure accurate production
  • Enter cutting plans into control outlet before jobs and alter them to correct mistakes when necessary
  • Determine and mount the fixtures, attachments and tools necessary to complete jobs per specifications
  • Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
  • Monitors production, adjusting feed/tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts
  • Catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate error
  • Discuss project specifications with supervisor to guarantee consistency between plans and products and collaborate to modify designs when existing ones are not feasible
  • Maintains inventory of completed products
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Primary equipment consists of Haas Mini-Mill, Haas TL-1 Lathe, Haas HL-1 Lathe, Haas ST-25 Lathe, Prototrak Mill and Manual lathe/mill, etc.
  • Product material is diverse—Nylon, Teflon, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.

The Candidate:

  • Fluency in above machinery
  • A thorough working knowledge of both G-code programming and Conversational programming
  • Fusion 360 a big plus
  • Must possess machinist math aptitude, print reading and ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and safety
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • A level-headed communicator and worker who strives to be productive
  • Ability to use hands and arms to reach/lift/push/pull/twist, manipulate foot pedals and move material throughout the plant as needed for each job
  • Excellent attendance
